Manchester, NH – A prolonged stretch of wet weather is expected across southern New Hampshire through Friday before sunshine and warmer temperatures return just in time for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers developing during the afternoon. High temperatures are expected to reach near 62 degrees with light winds across the Manchester area.

Rain chances increase Wednesday night as additional showers move into the region ahead of a wetter weather system arriving Thursday. Overnight lows will fall to around 47 degrees.

Thursday is expected to bring the steadiest rainfall of the week. Forecasters say widespread rain will overspread southern New Hampshire during the afternoon and evening hours, potentially affecting both commutes. High temperatures will remain cool near 62 degrees with periods of moderate rainfall possible.

The wet pattern continues Thursday night and Friday, with showers lingering through much of the day Friday before gradually tapering off by evening. Friday’s highs will stay cool near 59 degrees.

A major improvement arrives for the weekend as drier air and sunshine move back into New England. Saturday is forecast to be mostly sunny with highs near 75 degrees, while Sunday climbs even warmer to around 77 degrees.

The warming trend continues into early next week, with Tuesday potentially reaching the mid-80s across parts of southern New Hampshire.
