According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, Tuesday, May 12, will remain dry with sunshine and highs ranging from the mid-50s to mid-60s. Despite the sunshine, temperatures are slightly below normal, following a cold start to the morning.
Conditions change Wednesday, May 13, as widespread rain and thunderstorms move into the region. Rain chances are high, with precipitation likely throughout the day and into the evening. Gusty winds may accompany some storms.
The unsettled pattern continues Thursday, May 14, with numerous showers and a continued chance for thunderstorms. High temperatures will remain cool, generally in the low 50s to low 60s.
By Friday, May 15, rain chances begin to taper, though isolated showers may still occur, especially in eastern areas.
A noticeable warmup arrives over the weekend. Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, will bring partly sunny skies and rising temperatures, with highs climbing into the 70s and potentially low 80s by Sunday.
Looking ahead to Monday, May 18, very warm conditions are possible, with highs reaching into the upper 70s to mid-80s, along with a slight chance for isolated thunderstorms.
