Ann Arbor, MI – Firefighters responded late Sunday night to a commercial fire at Arbor Farms Market in Ann Arbor, quickly bringing the situation under control and preventing major damage.

According to the Ann Arbor Fire Department, crews were dispatched around 11:10 p.m. on May 10 to the market located at 2103 West Stadium Boulevard in Washtenaw County. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames on the exterior of the building, concentrated near the main entrance.

Officials say the fire appears to have originated from a sign mounted above the entrance. Crews acted quickly to extinguish the flames before they could spread further into the structure.

While the interior of the building avoided direct fire damage, authorities reported some smoke impact inside the store. No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters.

Damage from the incident is estimated at approximately $100,000, according to fire officials.

The quick response helped limit the extent of the damage and prevented disruption to surrounding businesses in the busy Ann Arbor and University of Michigan area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though early indications point to the exterior signage as the origin point.

Fire officials remind business owners to regularly inspect electrical fixtures and signage to reduce the risk of similar incidents.
