Grant County, IN – A woman from Marion was killed Friday afternoon in a head-on crash in Grant County, with two other մարդիկ seriously injured, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash occurred around 4:26 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, on County Road 450 North near County Road 5800 East, just outside the Landess community. Emergency crews responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision and found three մարդկանց injured at the scene.
First responders attempted life-saving measures, including CPR, on a female passenger, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Grant County Coroner identified the victim as Sandra Rochelle Beouy, 55, of Marion. Authorities say her family has been notified.
The two drivers involved in the crash were transported to Marion Health with serious injuries.
Preliminary findings indicate that one driver, traveling eastbound in a 2025 Jeep, allegedly attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. Investigators say the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a westbound Jeep head-on.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team, along with Indiana State Police, is continuing to investigate the incident.
Officials also acknowledged multiple agencies that assisted at the scene, including local fire departments, EMS, and dispatch personnel.
