Bradley, IL – A long-running community event in Kankakee County is set to return next week, bringing together car enthusiasts and local families to support those facing cancer-related hardships.
According to organizers, the 16th Annual Caleb’s Prayer Foundation Benefit Car Show will take place Sunday, May 17, at Phillips Chevrolet, located at 1400 Locke Drive near Bourbonnais. The event raises funds to assist families in Kankakee and Iroquois counties with expenses such as groceries, housing, medical bills, and funeral costs.
The nonprofit Caleb’s Prayer Foundation was established in memory of Caleb Hoggins, who died in 2014 after battling cancer. Since its founding more than a decade ago, the organization has provided over $114,000 in assistance to local families.
Last year’s event featured 142 vehicles and drew hundreds of attendees, raising more than $14,500. Organizers say the car show has generated over $120,000 since 2015.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., with judging starting at 11 a.m. and awards presented at 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded across 18 categories, including Best of Show and a memorial award in Caleb’s honor. Food, raffles, and door prizes will also be available.
The event is free to attend, and organizers say all proceeds directly benefit local families. In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, May 24.
