Tallahassee, Florida – Temperatures will stall in the 60s across North Florida today, as a backdoor cold front pushes in and limits warming during peak afternoon hours.
According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, a northeast-to-southwest moving cloud deck will overspread the region through the afternoon, keeping highs cooler than recent days. Tallahassee is expected to hold near 68°F to 69°F, while nearby cities like Albany and Valdosta remain in the mid to upper 60s.
Communities along the I-10 corridor, including Quincy, Monticello, and Live Oak, may see temperatures struggle to rise through the afternoon as cloud cover thickens. Coastal areas such as Apalachicola and Panama City could stay slightly milder, reaching the upper 60s to near 70°F.
This setup creates a sharp contrast from recent warmer afternoons, with some areas running nearly 10 degrees cooler than earlier this week. While no rain is expected, the cloud cover will dominate skies and keep conditions subdued.
Residents should expect a cooler, cloudier day with limited sunshine and monitor updates as forecast confidence remains lower than usual due to the front’s influence.
