La Crosse, WI – Temperatures will surge toward 80 degrees Saturday before a sharp cooldown drops highs into the 40s and 50s by Sunday afternoon across western Wisconsin.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Friday will remain mild with highs ranging from 53 to 67 degrees under mostly dry conditions. Warmer air builds Saturday, pushing temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees before a weak system brings a 15 to 25 percent chance of rain late Saturday night into early Sunday.

Cities including La Crosse, Eau Claire, and Winona will see the warmest conditions Saturday afternoon, making it one of the mildest days so far this season. However, cooler air quickly follows, bringing Sunday highs down into the lower 40s to mid-50s with breezy conditions.

Travel impacts appear minimal, but brief showers overnight could create isolated slick spots on highways like I-90. Most areas remain dry into early next week, with temperatures gradually stabilizing in the 40s and 50s Monday and Tuesday.

The overall pattern stays quiet, with only limited rain chances and no major systems expected. Additional updates will be issued if rain chances increase late weekend.
