Pinellas County, FL – With hurricane season approaching, Pinellas County officials are rolling out a series of preparedness events across the Tampa Bay area to help residents get ready.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, multiple hurricane preparedness expos will take place between late April and early June 2026 at locations across the county, including Madeira Beach, Oldsmar, Belleair Beach, Palm Harbor, St. Pete Beach, and Belleair Bluffs.
The first events are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, with expos at Madeira Beach City Hall and Nielsen Media Research in Oldsmar, both running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Additional events will follow in May and June, including a larger Hurricane Preparedness Day on Saturday, May 30, at the North Greenwood Recreation Center.
Officials say the expos will provide critical information on hurricane readiness, including evacuation zones, emergency access permits, disaster planning, and safety resources. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with local agencies and emergency management teams.
The initiative comes as Florida residents are urged to prepare early for the Atlantic hurricane season, which officially begins June 1. Pinellas County, part of the densely populated Tampa Bay metro, is particularly vulnerable to storm surge and coastal flooding.
Authorities encourage residents to attend one of the events to ensure they have a plan in place before storms develop.
