Pueblo, CO – A sharp warming trend is set to take hold across Colorado starting today, with temperatures climbing nearly 30 degrees by early next week after a cool Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, upper-level ridging will rebuild over the Rockies through the weekend, keeping temperatures slightly below seasonal levels Saturday before a steady and significant warm-up begins Sunday and accelerates into Tuesday and Wednesday.

Southern Colorado cities including Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and Canon City will see highs in the 50s and 60s Saturday, then jump into the 70s Sunday and surge into the 80s by Tuesday. Pueblo is expected to reach the mid-80s by midweek, while Lamar could push near 90°F.

Mountain areas, including Leadville and Salida, will also warm steadily, though highs will remain cooler compared to the plains.

The rapid warm-up may increase snowmelt in higher elevations and create fluctuating conditions for outdoor plans. Residents should stay hydrated and be prepared for large day-to-day temperature swings.

Dry conditions are expected to persist through midweek, with no major storm systems in the immediate outlook. Additional updates may follow as temperatures continue to rise.
