Indianapolis, Indiana – Light snow is creating slick spots across central Indiana right now, impacting the early morning commute before a rapid warmup takes hold later this week.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, scattered light snow is falling early Wednesday with minor accumulation possible on untreated roads and bridges. Temperatures hovering near freezing are allowing brief slick conditions, especially on elevated surfaces and secondary roads during the morning drive.
Conditions improve quickly by midday as temperatures climb toward 48°F in Indianapolis, melting any lingering snow. By Thursday afternoon, highs rebound to near 59°F with only a few light showers early in the day.
The bigger shift arrives heading into the weekend. Cities along I-65, I-69, and I-70—including Indianapolis, Lafayette, and Bloomington—are expected to reach around 71°F Friday through Sunday, marking a swing of more than 20 degrees above normal.
Drivers should use caution early Wednesday, then prepare for a stretch of dry, springlike weather into the weekend. More updates are possible if additional systems develop late weekend.
