Louisville, Kentucky – A light burst of snow is creating slick and slushy roads across central Kentucky this morning, but conditions will shift quickly as rain moves in by early afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, flurries and light snow will taper off by late morning Wednesday, with minor accumulation limited to a dusting. Roads across Louisville, Lexington, and Elizabethtown may see brief slick spots, especially on bridges and untreated surfaces during the morning commute.

By early afternoon, temperatures rise into the upper 40s and low 50s, allowing snow to transition into light rain. Major routes including I-64, I-65, and I-71 will see improving conditions as melting accelerates.

The warming trend continues through the week, with highs reaching the upper 50s Thursday, then climbing into the upper 60s and 70s by Friday. By the weekend, temperatures are expected to surge into the upper 70s and low 80s statewide, marking a dramatic shift from midweek conditions.

Drivers should remain cautious early today for slick spots, but travel improves quickly by midday. Rain chances diminish after today, with warmer and drier conditions taking hold into the weekend. Additional updates may follow as temperatures continue to rise.
