Cocoa, Fla. – A 22-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday outside Ace’s Bar in Cocoa, prompting an active homicide investigation.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, March 1, after receiving a 911 call reporting a person had been shot at the business located at 1505 West King Street.
When deputies arrived, they found an adult male suffering from life-threatening injuries in the parking lot. Deputies and Brevard County Fire Rescue personnel rendered aid before the victim was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead by medical staff.
Authorities identified the victim as 22-year-old J’Lyn Gordon of Vero Beach. Investigators said preliminary findings indicate the shooting occurred in the bar’s parking lot.
The case remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation. No arrests have been announced.
