Medford, Oregon – A Medford man was arrested Feb. 25 following a months-long investigation into alleged online child exploitation.

According to the Eugene Police Department, 25-year-old Gold Hill resident Kaleb John Francis Altman allegedly began communicating in September 2023 with someone he believed to be a juvenile female. Investigators said the individual was an undercover detective working internet crimes against children cases.

Police said Altman allegedly sent explicit links to adult pornography websites along with photos and videos of his genitalia and sex acts. Detectives from the Eugene Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force said Altman later drove to Medford, where he met with Jackson County Sheriff’s Office detectives assisting in the investigation.

A joint team including the Oregon Department of Justice ICAC Task Force and Medford Police detectives arrested Altman without incident at his workplace in Medford, according to officials.

He was transported to Eugene and lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of Luring a Minor and Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the Second Degree. Court records list case number 2602158.

Authorities said the investigation remains active and emphasized ongoing efforts to identify and prosecute individuals accused of exploiting children online. The regional task force includes local, state and federal agencies serving Jackson and Josephine counties.

Officials also reminded parents to monitor children’s online activity and report suspicious behavior. The case may resonate with students and families as digital safety remains a growing concern.
