According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the District 6 Patrol Division responded around 8 a.m. Sunday to an assault call in the 100 block of Summer Crest Circle.
Authorities said a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend allegedly forced entry into her home by breaking a window. Once inside, he allegedly assaulted her before fleeing the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
While assisting the victim, a deputy searching the surrounding area located a vehicle matching the suspect’s description. Officials said responding units from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody without incident.
The suspect was identified as Ivan Hernandez Jr., 32, of Spring. According to the sheriff’s office, Hernandez has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail on felony charges of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony and assault family/household member – impeding breath/circulation.
Jail records show he is being held on a $100,000 bond.
