Idaho starts the morning with wet pavement and light flakes mixing into the Treasure Valley, and roads could turn slick before lunchtime. A gray sky hangs over Boise as temperatures hover near 34 degrees, cold enough for rain to flip to snow in bursts.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, a slight chance of rain and snow continues through midmorning, then scattered snow showers redevelop before 11 a.m. Highs reach about 45 degrees today, but brief heavier showers could coat grassy areas and reduce visibility. Winds stay light, though gusts may touch 21 mph at times.

Drivers along I-84 and State Street should plan extra time. Slushy patches may develop where snow falls steadily. With temperatures dipping below freezing late tonight near 29 degrees, any leftover moisture could refreeze by early Wednesday. That’s when flash freezing becomes a real concern this time of year.

Snow showers remain likely Wednesday, mainly before late morning, with a high near 40 degrees. Little accumulation is expected, but light coatings can still create slick bridges. Keep an eye on shaded overpasses and neighborhood side streets.

By Thursday, another round of scattered snow showers develops after midday with highs near 41. Friday stays chilly with a high near 39 before a gradual weekend rebound into the mid-40s.

Looking ahead, NOAA’s 6–10 day outlook signals above-normal temperatures building into Idaho by early next week. A warming trend from Monday into late week could bring early hints of spring.
