According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 10:04 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, to a report of an armed individual at the Wellesley Park Apartments. Investigators said the suspect allegedly attempted to gain entry into a victim’s apartment while brandishing a handgun. Four victims were reportedly menaced during the encounter.

During a search of the area, deputies located a Glock 23 handgun equipped with a 30-round extended magazine, along with a ski mask believed to belong to the suspect, authorities said.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Giovanni Bernard Eason, was located on the premises and taken into custody without incident.

Eason has been charged with burglary, unlawful use of a weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, four counts of menacing and tampering with evidence. According to authorities, Multnomah County also issued a parole violation detainer in connection with the case.

No injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
