St. Tammany Parish, LA – A Folsom man was arrested following a six-month child exploitation investigation.

According to Louisiana State Police, the agency’s Special Victims Unit (LSP/SVU), working with the FBI, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Covington Police Department, concluded an investigation into alleged child exploitation activities that began in August 2025.

Authorities said 35-year-old Taylor J. Tassin of Folsom was taken into custody Feb. 10 in Lacombe. Investigators allege Tassin engaged in sexually explicit online conversations with someone he believed to be a minor.

He was charged with computer-aided solicitation of a minor, indecent behavior with a juvenile, and child grooming, according to state police. Tassin was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center. The case remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police said the investigation highlights ongoing collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies aimed at combating sexual exploitation and protecting children across the region.

Officials encourage the public to report suspicious activity involving potential child exploitation or trafficking. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Louisiana State Police online reporting system.

The arrest underscores continued law enforcement focus on online crimes involving minors, an issue that remains a concern for families and communities statewide.
