Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – A fugitive was arrested after allegedly jumping from a window and fleeing deputies in Penn Hills this afternoon.
According to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Curtis Davis of Knoxville was taken into custody along Barkhoff Street after deputies developed information that he was inside a residence in the area.
Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus said Davis had been a fugitive since Dec. 1 of last year, when a bench warrant was issued for an alleged probation violation tied to a prior guilty plea involving drug and firearm charges. Authorities said Davis also had multiple active warrants out of the City of Pittsburgh, including burglary, firearms charges and assault.
Deputies arrived at the residence this afternoon and, according to officials, Davis allegedly jumped from a first-floor front window and began running before deputies surrounded him a short distance away. He then dropped to the ground and was arrested without further incident.
The sheriff’s office said Davis had previously fled from detectives in April 2024, leading to a pursuit that ended in a two-vehicle crash in Mt. Lebanon.
Davis was transported to the Allegheny County Jail. Charges related to the active warrants remain pending.
The arrest may be of particular interest to young residents and commuters in Penn Hills following prior incidents involving alleged pursuits.
