Weld County, Colorado – Deputies are evacuating homes in Longview Estates after a man allegedly claimed he had a bomb Wednesday morning.
According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, patrol units responded at 10:09 a.m. to the 11100 block of Yosemite Street following a report that a male subject indicated he had a bomb.
Authorities issued a reverse 911 alert to residents in the area and began evacuations out of precaution while the Weld County Bomb Squad investigates.
Officials urged the public to avoid the area as law enforcement secures the scene. No injuries have been reported.
The sheriff’s office has not released additional information about the suspect or whether a device has been located.
Residents in the surrounding neighborhood may experience road closures and increased emergency presence until the scene is cleared. Late-morning traffic in the residential area could be impacted as investigators work.
