Boston, Massachusetts – Southern New England is heading into a quieter stretch of mid-February weather, though colder-than-normal temperatures are expected to linger across Massachusetts and Connecticut through the week. While the storm track remains displaced, the persistent chill may keep winter firmly in place despite limited chances for snow or rain.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the 6–10 day outlook from February 10–14 favors below-normal temperatures across much of southern New England, including eastern and central Massachusetts and nearly all of Connecticut. Precipitation probabilities remain near normal, signaling a low likelihood of widespread snow or soaking rain during the period.

In Massachusetts, communities from Boston and Worcester to the South Shore are expected to see extended dry intervals, with only brief, light precipitation possible. Any snow that develops would likely be minor, reducing the risk of major travel disruptions along Interstate 90 and Route 128. Connecticut faces a similar setup, with Hartford, New Haven, and surrounding towns seeing cold daytime highs and below-freezing nights, but few organized systems moving through.

The colder air may allow for patchy icy conditions during early mornings, especially on untreated roads and bridges. Residents are encouraged to bundle up, monitor heating systems, and allow extra time for commutes during colder starts.

This pattern is expected to persist through late week, though forecasters note that temperature trends could moderate if the cold retreats northward. Additional advisories may be issued if precipitation chances increase.
