Texas — Cold air presses against windows this morning as North Texas wakes under a clear, pale sky. Car windshields feel brittle to the touch, and breath fogs briefly before vanishing.

Dallas–Fort Worth starts the day near 27 degrees, cold enough for patchy frost on elevated surfaces. Winds stay light, but the chill lingers early. Any moisture left on roads or bridges may freeze briefly, especially before sunrise. Drivers should slow down on ramps along I-35, I-20, and I-30.

The turnaround arrives fast. Sunshine dominates today, pushing highs toward 55 degrees. Jackets come off by afternoon, but melting frost can leave damp pavement behind. Once the sun lowers, refreezing remains possible in shaded spots.

Tonight stays clear, with lows near 36 degrees. Pipes and pets should still be protected, though conditions are less severe than recent cold snaps.

Monday brings a dramatic warm-up. Skies turn mostly sunny, and temperatures surge to around 67 degrees. Gusts may reach 20 mph, adding a dry, springlike feel. It feels pleasant, but rapid warming accelerates snowmelt farther north, feeding the freeze–thaw cycle overnight.

Monday night cools to about 52 degrees, keeping roads mostly dry. By Tuesday, clouds increase and a slight chance of showers develops before noon. Highs reach 63 degrees, well above normal for early February. Rain chances remain limited, but wet roads could briefly affect commutes.

Tuesday night clears and cools again, dropping to the upper 30s. Wednesday stays mostly sunny, with highs near 58 degrees, followed by another cool night.

Looking ahead, national outlooks show below-normal precipitation across much of the South but continued temperature swings. A stronger cold front later this week may reset the pattern, bringing cooler air back into North Texas.
