Fort Worth, Texas – Drivers across North and Central Texas could face slick roads and limited visibility through early Wednesday, as freezing fog settles into the region overnight Monday and again Tuesday night. Areas within the DFW Metroplex—including Sherman, Graham, and Paris—are expected to see the worst visibility reductions by early Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, dense fog combined with subfreezing temperatures could result in light ice accumulation on roads, bridges, and elevated surfaces. These conditions are most likely between midnight and 9 a.m. each morning.
Cities like Cisco, Canton, Waco, and Palestine may also experience patchy fog with slippery surfaces that could affect early morning commutes. Motorists are urged to use low-beam headlights, reduce speeds, and allow for additional travel time. Ice-covered sidewalks and untreated roads may also pose risks for pedestrians.
The freezing fog risk returns again Tuesday night into early Wednesday, with continued caution advised during morning hours. More advisories may follow if conditions worsen.
