Hanford, CA – A burglary investigation at Hanford Christian School early Wednesday morning led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man who allegedly broke into the campus, damaged multiple windows, and later stole a truck from the school’s parking lot.

According to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the school around 6:54 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, after staff reported seeing a male suspect on surveillance footage entering a classroom through a window. Deputies later identified the man as Marshall Ovalle.

As deputies investigated the initial break-in, a second reporting party contacted authorities stating his Dodge truck had been stolen from the school parking lot. The owner, who was receiving real-time location updates from the vehicle, guided officers to the 900 block of Seventh Street in Hanford. Hanford Police officers located the truck and detained Ovalle at the scene.

Deputies say that as the investigation continued, they learned Ovalle allegedly broke several windows, entered the school’s band room, and had entered another vehicle prior to stealing the Dodge. Several stolen items were recovered and returned to their owner.

Authorities confirmed that the individual seen in the school’s surveillance video was Ovalle, linking him to the earlier break-in.

Ovalle was booked into the Kings County Jail on charges that include burglary, vandalism, and vehicle theft. His bail was set at $45,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
