Union County, NC – A fugitive arrest in Monroe led deputies to uncover more than seven pounds of marijuana and hundreds of THC vape cartridges, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were attempting to serve a fugitive warrant for armed robbery on Hui Li when they allegedly noticed several large vacuum-sealed bags containing a substance consistent with marijuana inside the home. Investigators also reported finding a large amount of cash and a money-counting machine in plain view.

Based on those observations, narcotics detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence. The search reportedly resulted in the discovery of 356 THC vape cartridges and approximately seven pounds of marijuana.

Li was arrested and transported to the Union County Detention Center on the fugitive warrant. Additional charges were obtained for Maintaining a Vehicle or Dwelling for Controlled Substances, Possession with Intent to Sell or Manufacture a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute Marijuana, deputies said.

Authorities said Li was denied bond on the fugitive warrant and received a $10,000 bond for the drug-related charges.
