Milwaukee, WI – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of central and southern Wisconsin from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday, with a wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, and drizzle expected to make for slippery travel conditions overnight.

According to the NWS, snow will develop Tuesday evening, with areas such as Fond du Lac, Waupun, and Sheboygan likely seeing 3–5 inches of snow. Farther south, including Madison, Watertown, and Milwaukee, precipitation will transition to freezing rain and drizzle, creating icy spots on untreated roads and elevated surfaces.

Forecasters expect a glaze of ice across parts of the “middle third” of the state, where temperatures hover near freezing. The heaviest impacts are anticipated from Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, potentially affecting the early commute.

Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time, reduce speed, and watch for slick conditions on bridges and overpasses. Conditions should gradually improve Wednesday afternoon as precipitation ends and northwest winds pick up.
