Lake County, IL – Two teens were arrested early Saturday morning after an overnight shooting in unincorporated Grayslake left bullet holes in homes and a vehicle, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 3:45 a.m. on November 1, 2025, to the 18400 block of West Meander Drive following several 911 calls reporting gunfire. When they arrived, deputies found damage to two homes and a nearby vehicle consistent with gunshots.
According to investigators, 19-year-old Jabreon Bell and 18-year-old Sir Mark Hill, both from unincorporated Grayslake, initially told deputies they had been shot at by people in a passing vehicle. However, surveillance footage later showed both men were armed — and that Hill allegedly fired several rounds toward the southeast.
Detectives searched Bell’s residence and recovered two loaded handguns, including one with an extended magazine. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Following review by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, Hill was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and four counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm. Bell faces four counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm.
Both are scheduled for their first court appearance Sunday, where prosecutors intend to seek pretrial detention.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
