Spokane, WA – The Inland Northwest is bracing for a major shift in weather this week as rain and high mountain snow move in by the weekend, according to the US National Weather Service Spokane. Temperatures will trend cooler and wetter through Sunday, signaling a firm turn toward fall conditions.

According to the agency’s October 8–12 forecast, Wednesday and Thursday will remain partly cloudy, with highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s and lows in the 30s and 40s. Rain is expected to begin Friday, bringing highs in the 60s before a cooler system arrives.

By Saturday and Sunday, forecasters call for rain mixed with high mountain snow as temperatures drop sharply—highs dipping into the 50s and lows in the 20s and 30s. Breezy conditions may also impact travel across mountain passes this weekend.

Residents and travelers in Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, and surrounding areas should prepare for cooler mornings and the possibility of slick roads at higher elevations. The National Weather Service advises monitoring local updates for potential snow accumulation in the mountains by late Saturday.
