Rockford, IL – A 25-year-old woman was killed early Sunday morning after a vehicle struck a wall near the roundabout at Kishwaukee Street and Airport Drive in Rockford.

According to the Rockford Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 2 a.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025, where they found a car with three occupants. All were transported to area hospitals for treatment, but the rear passenger later died from her injuries.

After reviewing the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized charges against the driver, identified as Alazia Hatchett, 30, of Orland Hills, Illinois. Hatchett was charged with aggravated DUI involving personal injury/death and reckless homicide, police said. She was later lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
