Battle Creek, MI – Authorities in Calhoun County are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing and possibly endangered man last seen Sunday afternoon in Fredonia Township.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, 47-year-old Dale Jacob Higley was last spotted on foot near 15 ½ Mile Road and J Drive South at about 3 p.m. Sunday. He was reportedly wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt with a tree service logo on the back.
Michigan State Police deployed a helicopter to assist in the search, though officials said it has since cleared the area. As of Monday, Higley remains missing, and deputies continue to comb the township with assistance from emergency responders.
Authorities are urging residents to check home security systems, doorbell cameras, and trail cameras for any possible sightings. While law enforcement stressed there is no known danger to the public, they continue to treat the case as a priority search effort.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have seen Higley or has information on his whereabouts to call 911 immediately. Additional information can also be reported to Sgt. Joel Flees at 269-781-0880.
