Champaign, Ill. – Drivers across Champaign County faced patchy fog early Friday, with visibility reduced before 9 a.m., but conditions are expected to clear quickly into a sunny day with highs near 83. Light northeast winds will keep the afternoon comfortable as skies remain mostly clear tonight.

According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, Saturday brings only a slight 20 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m., with sunshine and highs near 85 following any morning clouds. Winds will shift northwest in the afternoon, gusting up to 17 mph at times.

Sunday and Monday look nearly identical, with sunny skies and highs in the mid-70s to low 80s. Nighttime lows will dip into the low 50s, offering cooler evenings across Champaign, Urbana, and surrounding towns. By Tuesday, residents can expect more of the same — dry, sunny conditions and mild late-summer temperatures.

The streak of sunny, dry weather is expected to extend into midweek, giving residents a break from storms and humidity.
