Las Vegas, Nev. – The Las Vegas Valley is heading into a dangerous stretch of triple-digit heat, with temperatures climbing to near 110°F by late week. After a brief chance of isolated thunderstorms Saturday afternoon, the region will settle into a hot, dry pattern before storm chances return Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, highs will hold near 100°F Saturday and reach 104°F by Monday. The heat will intensify Tuesday and Wednesday, peaking at 105°F and 108°F respectively, before topping out near 110°F Thursday. Storm chances re-emerge Thursday afternoon and could linger into Friday, bringing brief relief but also gusty winds and lightning risks.
Residents across Clark County should take precautions against the prolonged heat. Hydration, limiting outdoor activity during peak hours, and checking on vulnerable neighbors are strongly advised. Cooling centers may be activated if temperatures remain extreme overnight, with lows still in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Travelers should also be aware that rapid storm development late week could cause sudden downpours and dangerous lightning in the Las Vegas Valley and along nearby highways, including I-15.
Warnings may be extended if storm activity increases heading into the weekend.
