Carmel, IN – Five juveniles are in custody after a shooting in Carmel’s 1100 block of Golfview Drive left one adult hospitalized Friday afternoon. Police say the suspects were located and arrested in less than 24 hours.

According to the Carmel Police Department, officers responded to the scene Friday after receiving reports of gunfire. The suspects allegedly fled before police arrived, and officials confirmed there was no ongoing threat to the public. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, though their condition has not been released.

By Saturday, investigators announced the arrests of five local juveniles, ranging in age from 14 to 17. Charges vary but include robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, aggravated battery, attempted murder, intimidation, and dangerous possession of a firearm. One 17-year-old is also accused of aggravated battery posing a substantial risk of death. Several suspects allegedly pointed firearms at others during the incident.

Police credited the quick arrests to what they called a coordinated, department-wide effort. “This was a true team effort,” the department said in a public statement, adding that their officers’ dedication and expertise ensured a fast resolution to the case.

The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office will determine the final charges. The investigation remains active, and no further details about the victim or potential motive have been released.
