The main relief comes from lower humidity and northwesterly breezes after the front passes, making conditions more comfortable than earlier this week. Widely scattered showers and storms are possible, especially south of Raleigh in areas along and near the NC/SC border—including Fayetteville, Laurinburg, and Lumberton—mainly during the afternoon and evening.
Travelers should watch for brief downpours and lightning in affected areas, especially on I-95 and US-401 corridors. Power outages are unlikely but possible in spots with stronger cells. Residents are advised to charge devices, secure loose outdoor items, and avoid outdoor plans south of Raleigh during the storm window.
