Boston, Massachusetts – Cooler air will settle across Massachusetts through Friday, but conditions could turn stormy Friday night into Saturday as scattered thunderstorms develop statewide.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, morning showers Thursday will give way to mostly dry conditions through the afternoon, with highs ranging from the upper 60s to mid-70s. Friday will feature a mix of sun and clouds, with slightly cooler temps in the low 70s inland and 60s along the coast.

The main weather threat arrives Friday night, when a line of scattered showers and thunderstorms may move into central and eastern parts of the state. Saturday will remain unsettled, with a chance for isolated thunderstorms—especially from Worcester east to the Cape. While no widespread severe weather is expected, isolated downpours could affect travel or outdoor plans.

By Sunday, much drier and warmer weather returns across the region, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80. Monday is expected to be partly sunny and warmer still, with low to mid-80s inland and cooler readings near the coast.

More updates are expected as the weekend approaches, especially if the Friday night storms strengthen.
