Indianapolis, Indiana – Thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hail could sweep across Indiana by Thursday afternoon, triggering a weather alert that extends into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, severe storms are likely Thursday between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m., especially near the I-65 and I-70 corridors. Friday will bring another round of scattered storms. Showers are expected after 8 a.m., with thunderstorms likely again after 11 a.m. While widespread severe weather is not predicted, isolated strong storms can’t be ruled out. Lightning remains a major hazard.
