South Bend, Indiana – Temperatures across northern Indiana will climb into the upper 70s and low 80s this week, but the stretch of warm weather brings on-and-off rain, with scattered showers expected tonight north of US 24 and a broader storm system arriving late Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, light rain is most likely tonight in areas like South Bend, Benton Harbor, and Goshen, where chances are near 50%. Overnight lows will range from 50–54°F. The next more organized system is forecast to move in Thursday night into Friday, bringing thunderstorms and a drop in temperatures to the high 60s by week’s end.
Drivers in Fort Wayne, Plymouth, and LaGrange should watch for wet roads during both Friday morning and evening commutes. Lightning and heavier downpours are possible with the Friday system, especially along and north of US 30. Officials advise residents to monitor local alerts and prepare for potential disruptions to travel and outdoor plans.
While no severe weather is expected at this time, more updates may follow as the Thursday night system develops. Rain chances taper off by Saturday with another warm stretch likely to return next week.
