Memphis, Tennessee – Isolated severe storms could develop across the Mid-South beginning at noon Monday, with damaging wind gusts posing the biggest threat through 7 p.m., especially in northeast Mississippi.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, showers and thunderstorms are already moving across the region this morning. Conditions may allow for a few storms to re-intensify by midday, with motion generally from the southwest to northeast.
Parts of northeast Mississippi—including Tupelo, Corinth, and surrounding areas—are under a Level 1 severe risk, the lowest on the five-tier scale. While widespread severe weather is not expected, storms that do develop could bring gusts up to 60 mph, hail, and brief heavy rain. No tornado threat is anticipated.
Drivers should use caution on highways like I-22 and U.S. 45 during peak storm hours. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and stay weather-aware throughout the day.
The storm threat is expected to diminish by early evening, but updated advisories may follow if conditions change.
