Baltimore, MD – A gusty breeze and mostly sunny skies are leading off the week across much of Maryland, with shifting conditions expected by tonight. The National Weather Service reports a developing weather pattern bringing isolated to scattered rain showers Tuesday evening, particularly from the Virginia Piedmont into southern Maryland.

According to the US National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, winds today will blow from the west at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph. Daytime highs will range from the mid-50s to mid-60s in urban areas and hover in the low 40s across the mountains.

Wednesday is forecast to be sunny and breezy, though cooler, with gusts around 25 mph and temperatures dipping to the 50s in the lowlands and 30s in higher elevations.

By Thursday, winds will ease and temperatures will rebound, bringing seasonable conditions back to the region. Urban highs will return to the mid-50s, while mountain areas warm into the mid-40s.

Residents should monitor forecasts for a potential shift heading into the weekend, when the chance of showers and thunderstorms increases. Now is a good time to secure loose outdoor items and layer appropriately for gusty winds and fluctuating temperatures.
