Spokane, WA – A winter storm is set to bring heavy snowfall and strong winds to Stevens Pass, making travel hazardous through the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. PDT Thursday, with snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches expected at Stevens Pass. A Winter Storm Warning will follow, starting 5 p.m. Thursday and lasting until 5 a.m. Saturday, bringing an additional 10 to 18 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 35 mph.
Drivers should prepare for dangerous travel conditions, particularly along mountain passes. The Washington State Department of Transportation advises carrying emergency supplies, including a flashlight, food, and water.
