Following the advisory, a Winter Storm Warning will take effect from 5 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Saturday. During this period, forecasters predict 12 to 20 inches of heavy snowfall, creating hazardous travel conditions. The affected areas include popular mountain destinations such as Stevens Pass and Mount Baker.

The NWS warns that roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.
