Albuquerque, NM – Snow showers will taper off this evening across the higher terrain in New Mexico. Mild and tranquil weather will return Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, strong winds will begin Monday and intensify Tuesday. Wind gusts could exceed 60 mph in northern and central areas. These conditions will increase the risk of fire weather, especially east of the central mountains.

Forecasters warn that Tuesday’s winds will be strong but weaker than those experienced earlier this week. Travel impacts and fire risks remain concerns, particularly in exposed areas.

Residents should prepare for strong gusts and stay updated on weather alerts. The NWS advises securing loose outdoor items and avoiding activities that could spark wildfires.
