Danville, IL – A 20-year-old Indiana man was arrested in Danville after allegedly driving under the influence, crashing a truck, and fleeing.
According to Danville Police, officers responded to Buchanan St. and Perrysville Ave. on Thursday at 10:15 p.m. for a truck crash. Witnesses reported seeing the driver run into the woods nearby.
Police found the suspect, Michael J. Sanquenetti of Clinton, IN, hiding in the woods and took him into custody. Officers discovered a firearm inside his truck, which he was not legally allowed to possess in Illinois.
Sanquenetti faces charges of aggravated unlawful possession of a handgun under 21, DUI, and leaving the scene of a crash. Authorities transported him to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building.
