Gaylord, MI – Northern Michigan residents will experience a major shift in weather this weekend as a strong system moves in Friday night, bringing thunderstorms, high winds, and a sharp drop in temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, Friday will start warm with highs in the upper 50s to 60s across the region, but clouds will increase as showers and storms arrive overnight. The system intensifies Saturday with blustery conditions, scattered storms, and gusty winds as temperatures peak near 70°F in some areas.

A cold front moving through late Saturday night will drastically drop temperatures, with Sunday highs only reaching the 30s and low 40s. Rain and snow are expected to linger throughout the day. Normal lows for the area will fall between 15-20°F, bringing winter-like conditions back to the region.
