CALIFORNIA – A midweek storm will bring rain to parts of Northern and Central California, including Sacramento, Eureka, and Hanford, with wet conditions expected through Wednesday evening. Showers will begin in the afternoon and continue overnight before tapering off by Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Sacramento will see rain likely after 4 p.m., with temperatures peaking at 59°F before cooling to the mid-40s overnight. Eureka has a higher chance of rain throughout the day, with possible thunderstorms by evening and temperatures hovering in the low 50s. In Hanford, rain is expected after 4 a.m. Wednesday, continuing through the day with a high near 55°F.
Drivers should be prepared for slick roads and reduced visibility, particularly along I-5 and Highway 99 in the Sacramento area. In Eureka, coastal highways, including U.S. 101, could see pooling water and gusty winds, making travel hazardous.
Looking ahead, Thursday will bring lingering showers in some areas, with temperatures in the mid-50s. However, Friday and the weekend look dry and mild, with sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s.
Residents should keep an eye on updates from the NWS and allow extra travel time during Wednesday’s rain. Warmer, drier conditions are expected by the weekend as spring weather makes a return.
