Knox County, TN – Knox County citizens have been put on high alert after the Sheriff’s Office reported ongoing phone scams.

Fraudsters are calling residents, deceitfully claiming they’ve missed a court date, and are asking for payments. The Sheriff’s Office has clarified that such contact would never be made for payment requests and has warned against trusting caller ID due to number-spoofing techniques.

The community, particularly the elderly, is advised to exercise caution and report any dubious communication. The office encourages sharing this information to prevent potential victimization.
