Whitehorse, YT – A period of snow and flurries is forecast to impact Whitehorse early next week, with temperatures dipping as low as -16°C overnight.

According to Environment Canada, snow is expected to begin Monday, March 31, followed by flurries into Tuesday night, April 1. Monday’s high will reach just 2°C, with a 60 percent chance of snow and an overnight low near -11°C. By Tuesday, flurries remain likely, and temperatures will fall to -16°C overnight under cloudy skies.

Ahead of the snowfall, Yukoners can expect mainly sunny and cold conditions through the weekend. Thursday’s high will reach 3°C, dropping to -6°C overnight. Friday and Saturday will bring sun and clouds with highs near 2°C and overnight lows around -6°C to -12°C.

Winds will gust up to 50 km/h from the south through Saturday, making wind chill a factor, especially in the early morning hours. Wind chills near -14°C are possible Friday morning.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for reduced visibility, icy roads, and fluctuating conditions early next week. While no official weather alerts are currently in effect, local travel and outdoor plans may be affected from March 31 through April 1.
