Yorkville, IL – A Yorkville man was arrested earlier this week on multiple felony charges following an investigation that began in March, authorities said.

According to the Yorkville Police Department, 21-year-old Andrew Lasater was taken into custody Monday, August 11, without incident. He is facing five counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography, all classified as Class X felonies under Illinois law.

The investigation began in March when Yorkville Police received an internet tip alleging Lasater had been in possession of illegal digital files. Investigators soon executed a search warrant at his residence, where they collected evidence later analyzed by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office for digital forensic examination.

Authorities said the forensic results indicated Lasater had allegedly disseminated the files over the internet, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant. He was then transported to the Kendall County Jail.

Yorkville Police confirmed the investigation was a joint effort involving the Plano Police Department, the Kendall County Criminal Intelligence Team, the Kendall County Special Response Team, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.

Officials emphasized that all charges are allegations at this stage. Lasater is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and he is entitled to a fair trial.
