Yorkville, IL – Grease Fire At Grocery Store Prompts Evacuation

Yorkville, IL – A grease fire at the Jewel-Osco in Yorkville forced an evacuation on Saturday evening. 

The Bristol Kendall Fire Department and Yorkville Police Department responded to the incident. According to the Yorkville Police Department, the store was evacuated as a precaution and remained closed as crews worked to contain the fire. 

It is currently unclear how long the store will stay closed. No injuries were reported, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. Customers are advised to check for updates regarding the store’s reopening.
