Deputies were dispatched around 2 p.m. October 20 to West Lebanon Road for reports of a disturbance. While en route, they learned the victim had fled the scene and was seeking medical help. According to investigators, 35-year-old Jeremy Potvin of New Hampshire allegedly went to the victim’s home, where a disagreement escalated into a physical altercation. Authorities say Potvin allegedly stabbed the man multiple times before fleeing.
After a search, police located Potvin in Berwick and took him into custody. He has been charged with Criminal Attempted Murder and is being held at the York County Jail on $150,000 cash bail, officials said.
Potvin’s first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, at 1 p.m. at York Judicial Center in Biddeford.
