Amity, OR – A man accused of sparking multiple high-speed pursuits across Yamhill and Polk counties over the past two weeks was arrested Saturday after deputies say he attempted to flee on foot from a rural cemetery.
According to the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, deputies first attempted to stop a white Acura sedan on November 3, 2025, around 8:15 p.m. in Amity. The driver, allegedly identified as Keith Edwin Becker, reportedly had an outstanding warrant and was suspected in recent theft and burglary cases. Deputies say Becker fled at speeds over 100 mph before the pursuit was terminated on SE Old Bethel Road.
The same vehicle was spotted again around 4:45 a.m. on November 4, and deputies say Becker allegedly fled a second time. Tire deflation devices were deployed successfully on Highway 233, but the Acura continued into Amity before crashing near Highway 99W. Becker allegedly ran into a nearby vineyard, prompting a prolonged K9 track and support from Oregon State Police.
During the ongoing search, deputies say a separate pursuit occurred in which a suspect vehicle rammed a patrol unit, and shots were fired at both Yamhill County deputies and an Oregon State Police sergeant.
On November 14, deputies received a report of a stolen 2005 Chevrolet Silverado belonging to Meadow Ridge Farms. Evidence allegedly linked Becker to the theft, and patrol deputies and the SCAN team continued surveillance overnight.
Becker was located around 12:30 p.m. on November 15 at Bethel Cemetery in Polk County. Deputies say he attempted to flee but was apprehended by K9 Valkyrie. He was treated at a local hospital before being lodged in the Yamhill County Correctional Facility on November 18. A stolen truck and trailer were recovered at the scene.
A search warrant executed November 17 at a rural Amity property uncovered numerous stolen farm tools, supplies, and burglary items. About 13 cases involving Becker have been forwarded to the District Attorney for review.
